Welch Music's
Act of Kindness
With just a phone call to Randy Welch, he willingly jumped on board to grant a local girl her wish, during a very difficult time.
Ellie is 11 years old and currently battling T-cell Lymphoblastoma. She's courageous and brave beyond her years. Ellie had mentioned to her mom, that she would love to learn how to play the piano. Since she is only able to attend school some of the time, and has limited contact with people outside her family, learning to play the piano would give her something she could do. Working with a local branch of Jewelers for Children, there was $500 collected from an event this summer, to surprise Ellie with a keyboard. In searching for a keyboard she could learn on, and transition to a piano, it was discovered $500 just wasn't going to be enough. So a call for help was placed to Randy Welch of Welch Music. He was able to come up with a beautiful keyboard for right around the target price, and even pitched in $100 extra to make sure Ellie could have this amazing gift before Christmas.
Because of his HUGE part in making this surprise happen, it was decided Randy should be the one to present Ellie with her new keyboard. Her mom took her into Welch Music in Twin Falls, under the pretense of "looking" at them, for future reference. Randy played beautiful music on a well placed keyboard in the middle of the store. Taking his time to tell Ellie all the amazing things it can do. After a short presentation he informed Ellie, that the very best thing about this particular keyboard, was it now belonged to her. She was shocked, moved to tears, and more excited then a child on Christmas morning. It was a truly magical moment for everyone involved. As a thank you to Randy, (tho it seems insignificant in comparison to his gift) Clicky Chicks wanted to share this story. Thank you Randy, from the Clicky Chicks!
