South Central Idaho Veterans Park
Wendell Idaho

Thanks to the community, there is a wonderful memorial for the men and women who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom, by giving their lives. This park is a reminder of the large sacrifice our freedom comes with. Standing in the South Central Veterans Park was a little overwhelming. In the center is a flag pole flying the American flag, and around it are 5 pentagon shaped pedestals covered with plaques holding names and dates of the Idaho men and women who have died while serving our country. Around the outside of the pedestals stand 5 flag poles each flying a flag from one of the 5 branches of the U.S. Military: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard. From the street a silhouette of the Statue of Liberty is the most visible. With the words "For All" carved at the bottom. This memorial is a must see, for all who live in Southern Idaho, or are just passing through for a visit. It's so important to remember the cost of freedom!
