Parks

Southern Idaho offers many parks of all types, playgrounds, walking paths, disc golf, rock climbing, historical trails, picnic areas, and much much more. The Clicky Chicks plan on visiting many of these parks through out the year.

The Gayle Forsyth Memorial Park is located in Jerome on the corner of 8th Ave. and Tiger Dr. It offers a fun playground, swings, a new Basketball Court, and open grassy areas to picnic or play catch.

To find other parks in the Jerome area check out this link http://www.ci.jerome.id.us/residents/parks-facilities.html We will visit as many of the parks around Southern Idaho as we can. Even with the chilly weather, it's great for kids to get out and play.

Southern Idaho is an over the top Sportsman's Paradise! There were literally thousands of these little honkers floating in this pond. They performed so nicely when we hollered at them!

Dierkes Lake in Twin Falls has year round fun for all ages! When the lake is frozen, ice fishermen take to drilling holes and putting out poles for trout. The Clicky Chicks spoke with local ice fisherman Shawn today about his technique and gear. According to him, the ice must be 4 inches thick to walk on. Today, where he was fishing, it was 6 inches. He had five holes drilled with his gas powered drill and was using synthetic bait to lure his catch. He also demonstrated his special shoes that he wears on the ice to keep him from slipping. Lucky for us, one of the little bells Shawn has attached to his poles jingled out signaling him that a fish had taken the bait. It was the trout's lucky day too because after a quick fashion photo shoot, he was released back into the icy depths. Shawn hoped for a much bigger catch and continued to work his lines.

Southern Idaho is a bevy of surprises and wonders for visitors and locals alike. We hope to show you as much as we can. Thanks so much for stopping by our blog!
